First the bad news: quasits have -1 strength and an increase of 50 xp
cost, removal of sneak.
Now the good news: quasit have gained doppelganger and a fear-causing
ability that allows them to deter pursuers while retreating. Since it makes
small creatures flee you may get some other creative use out of it. This
has potential to be very powerful so we'll need to keep an eye on it. Worst
case right now is it needs to be buffed. Also gained a "fly" command so
they can get back into the air once grounded.
Doppelganger is the replacement of sneak. Since it allows the quasit to "sneak up" on people by not looking like a threat, rather than by physically sneaking.
Code: |
'DOPPELGANGER'
Syntax: doppelganger
An experienced quasit can disguise themselves by taking the appearance of
another similar to the caster. Do not confuse this with altering form,
they are still the same person, except when you look at them, you will
see the description and equipment of the one being doppeled. The caster
will no longer be doppeled once his victim has left the realms.
To remove the affect of doppelganger, type : revert
|
Cause fear is their escape, and provides some room for creativity
Code: |
'CAUSE FEAR'
Spell type: MENTAL
The cause fear spell causes the target to experience terrifying visions,
paralyzing them with fear. The victim will lose control of their body and
be unable to retaliate, remaining rooted to the spot until the fear wears
off. Succeeding a mental save, or taking damage from the originator of the
spell will help to reduce the remaining duration. The spell grows less
effective as it is repeatedly suffered.
Smaller creatures such as pets may be compelled to flee the room completely.
Conversely, minotaurs and the undead are immune to cause fear, as are the
iron-willed dark-knights and errant paladins.
NOTE: Quasits automatically cast this spell on their opponents as they
flee.

So when are you going to add the Vulns? Fear already looks OP. |

Allowing this to be instantly casted on flee with no lag to the Quasit is ridiculous and it does not look to be even checking for saves. |

Let me bring up the point for Vulns.
Why do Gnomes have a bash Vuln? Because they are small right? Quasits are also small. If Quasits are undead why are they not vuln to Wrath and Light based attacks? |

Gnomes resist two types of damage/spells which partially contributes to them having a (very minor) bash vuln. Quasits don't resist anything. They have 16 str. This limits their weapon and shield selection drastically. No joke. Consider it their "vuln".
The fear is definitely saving properly. It reduces duration when you take damage or make subsequent saves (which you automatically make every round). When it wears off, you're immune for a decent length of time. This adds up to the fear being very limited as a pk tool. It's an escape tool.
We always keep a close eye on new features, so rest assured we're making sure it's not unbalanced, but it's definitely not the l33t pwnage you seem to think it is. |

16 strength, that's utterly ridiculous. beia, that is definitely more than enough to make up for the bonuses. Literally a suit of red dragon eq at fifty would be almost all of your weight immediately. |

Gnomes have a vuln (not a strong one) but they get 5 pracs per level and just sink it into health, plus don't have to 2 prac a thing. Seems you're sleeping on them. They are one of the best races. Their stats are amazing for mages especially. That "perception" you have is why quasits do not have one. |
