|
|
All members of the coterie Strife have been assimilated into the re-opened Warlord
cabal, effective immediately. There are some loose ends to be worked out but the
basic requirements of no magic use and a functioning cabal item are in place.
It is thanks to the continuous efforts of Sylos and Ugordek that have brought the
Warlord cabal back to glory. Their excellence has revived this cabal. If you
want the reasons, look no further than these two.
Thorgoth shall be the cabal Immortal and in charge of regulations and promotions.

Actually, it is seriously OP Beia. That was the focus of the design of bringing this back, so that the game would be completely fucked and everyone would complain and leave. You're very astute for pointing this out. In fact, all of your comments lately are astute and worth the brain cells it takes to read them. |

you say that like it's funny but if you were to time travel back to the day they were removed it really kind of looked like they were taken out exactly "so that the game would be completely fucked and everyone would complain and leave" |

As someone who only played warlords, but back then I didn't understand pk which is funny because now with an actual combat system it made it easier for me. The war of attrition for any warlord applicant was insane to think of back then to how easy it is now. 50 people on, you can't get inducted until lvl 35 and you don't even get stance right away. If you were lucky maybe by level 40. So you are trying to rank with no surge every one knows you can't use purples so the average player is lucky to even have only 10 deaths before getting to 50. Personally I never felt forms were all that strong but that was probably due to me not understanding combat well back then. it was just vorpal sword in one hand and ebony kris with the other and bash until I lost.
I would have to assume the strength of forms would be toned down a strike of the cobra form with a wild polearm would probably do unspeakable damage now with raged mino zerker. I would give the imms a lot more credit to have thought of everything we think of because they were there for it. My only concern really is that it makes the keeper cabal useless from a player stand point not a game stand point. Warlords is so much more glamorous than Keepers. I can honestly say I will never make a keeper as long as I can make a warlord nothing against hrimo or any of the experiences I had in the past, but warlords is just cooler. |

I'm worried about the same thing regarding Keepers. But I think Warlords will get a big uptick in short term interest and things will settle down. If Pirates were a thing though... |

Give you a reason? Magic is the strongest of course! What other reason do you need? They can revive their long lost powers! Haha |

If you have a personal complaint against a player, there are avenues in game for that. No need to make this a public spectacle. |

They have an aversion to magical aid, not magic. That aversion to magical aid covers pills, potions, spells and enchantments from other players. It doesn't cover ordinary equipment though.
I can see your viewpoint, the debate has come up many times before. But we're looking at "aid" in a more general, "fight your own battles" sense, being self-sufficient and testing their own might.
In the past, ranger Warlords were banned from using pets and herb, until somebody ruled that it was their skill so they should be allowed to use it. Similarly, an item is something that can be gotten by one's self, and the magic flag isn't meaningful in the context of "magical aid".
The magic flag is on a lot of rares, and not by accident. Any item (this is a builder's rule) which is considerably stronger than other stuff in its class is given a magic flag. Dragonscale is all magic. All rares are magic. Icicles, which are doing a "magic-based" attack, are not magical as they are below average damage. |
