|
|
Druidic staff has been updated. Druids will now be able to retrieve
their staff if they are separated from it by using the "druidic" command
again. This will only work for a staff crafted after this change. To
encourage you to get a new staff, any old staff will lose any charge in its
crystals if it is removed from your hand.

Not a fan of this change. If druids can only have 1 staff at any given time that is going to blow. I think one of each type of staff should be the way to go. |

beia, I understand that you've had multiple staffs and gotten accustomed to this. However, my goal with the druid staff was that you spend time on crafting it and come to really value the thing. This goal is going to become extremely diluted if you feel you have to gather all eight of them. You just need to decide which element you favor.
Also, considering how long it takes to gather full strength crystal shards, I'm surprised anyone really wants to farm more of these. There is a druid in emerald with a rare cudgel if you wish an alternative weapon. I suggest to you that the druid rare weapon in emerald forest is an essential item that you have not yet noticed. Don't miss that |

Dav I don’t think you know how easy it is to gain 9 prismatic shards in less than 30 mins. Captain in solace + Fireforge. The Druidic staff is very important I know but being restricted to one element is not fun in my opinion. I understand why and I will accept it obviously I don’t have a choice. I don’t have to like it. |

You can gain 9 prismatic shards easily. I would rather have the ability to switch between elements of my stave and have them lose the charge once we remove them than only be able to get 1 staff at a time. Also as it was stated, one hand exotic and shield is not the best bet for druids. If the druid staff is a one handed mace that would be much better. |

well... if I was a treant I wouldn't want the most common fire weapons in the game to easily squash you... if it was a mace anyone with a flaming longs word dual fiery dagger would fucking wreck you |

I think staff fits the lore better than a mace if it has to be one or the other. I guess we could have default be staff and have the right combos turn it to mace or sprig.
The only reason you want more than 1 staff is to have access to different weapon damage types, right? Is there another way we could facilitate that? |

I'm pretty sure someone closed that issue as fixed. If it's not fixed go ahead and bug it for us, Andrael. |

Thorn armor works perfectly now. Maybe have enchant staff change the damage type? That would phase out the different types of staffs. The only reason for the calling would be to upgrade your staff. So FFF would turn your staff into a charred staff. WWW would be weaping and so on and so forth. That sounds like a lot to code rather than having multiple staff for different occasions. |

Oh thats right, we can easily add a enchant weapon combo for maces. I don't want to go too overboard with that, but that seems really quite helpful and useful. |

Seems thorn armor is broken again. It falls off if you move now again. |

As a test, I added the ability to change the damage on the staff via crystal combinations. I also added a third weapon type option as a cudgel. I immediately felt way too powerful tanking with mace and shield with certain damage types, but changing the damage felt nice and I think I'm going to add it to the game. Nobody was crying foul when druids were carrying around all the damage types prior to the bugfix anyway, so this should be reasonable. I'm probably going to put a hefty mana cost on switching the damage so it can't be done easily in the middle of fight.
Changing staff to sprig or vice versa will only require 1 crystal charged and won't have the mana cost to make it more fluid.
I'm open to feedback before I go ahead and do this. |

Perhaps you can limit the mace to certain damage types? |

I can't see a way to justify that in terms of the lore without limiting the others. I guess we could lower the damage of the druid weapon across the board, but i think we're better off just having the druid get a mace the old fashioned way if he wants to use one. |
