I was wondering if I could use the potions from Timaran to help with leveling, or purple potions if attacked? The helpfile says that "members swear off magic", so I could use it till I became a member?
My second question is about training with the demon faced talisman, yellow and green rings, pink and green stone and battered iron breastplate. Before when training that way even if the mob missed it was still helped in increasing defenses. Is it still effective for training defenses at low levels that way, opposed to being a higher level and training on mobs that will actually land shots on you? |

If you're talking about warlords, I would suggest not using potions. In fact, you can use the (irreversible) nomagic command to declare your intent.
It is effective. There's now a training dummy in gnome village. |

Oh cool, so it's not done in the mines or bats in the sewers anymore? What level would be best to begin training that way, around 15 or so?
Thanks for the quick response. |

There is a practice dummy that never dies beside the hobgoblin king, you don't really even need the pink and green stones, yellow rings, etc, just lure some creatures to you like the hobgoblin soldiers, prisoners, spiders with the tarantula statue if you want more.
Some people may feel differently, but I think at lower lvls you are less proned to get attacked. You might always get that one guy who will prove me wrong, but its super easy to train at that place now. |
