'ARMOR TYPE'
Separate from the weight of an object, the "armor type" indicates how
much protection that clothing offers. For instance, a heavy woolen
robe will not be capable of offering the same protection as a mithril
vest. Armor types are LIGHT, MEDIUM and HEAVY.
Light: Leathers, cloth-based clothing, and skins (ex. bark) or light
animal hides with very few exceptions for metals, such as the mithril
and adamantite. Monks and ninjas must use this for extra mobility.
A material MUST be flexible to be even considered for light armor.
Medium: Mail, such as scalemail, chainmail or any other linked
composite armor with interstitial air within its structure. Special
hides may be classified as medium armor, ex. demonskin. Light steel
plate is a noteable medium (not light or heavy) armor type, and dark
oak is considered a form of "light plate" - medium armor.
Heavy: Thick plate armor made of metals (ex. silver, iron, steel), and
all armors made from dragonscale. Splint mail, banded mail and
full plates. Heavy armor is used noteably by paladins and
dark-knights who sacrifice mobility for protection as they focus on
a slightly more magical art.
An object's armor type may be checked by identifying it, and also
with the
LORE command.
