The Theran Mystique - Volume 2, Issue 2
|
Cabal Affairs
-------------
[LEGION]
Our predictions of a feared warrior emerging from the shadows to restore Legion to
its former glory have been overly ambitious. Despite the Knights sulking
inside their little castle and the Justices apparently spending more time in the brothels
than on patrol, Legion activity seems at an all time low. Indeed the streets of
Seringale are so safe that a scantily clad elf maiden carrying large sacks of gold can
safely walk from her guildhall to the bank without fear of being harmed.
[KNIGHT]
Lately, knightly heads adorned with the finest (and unused) armaments are
peeking out from the warmth of their castle only to retreat swiftly if spotting anything
more threatening than a Herald wishing to sell a book. But far be it for me to suggest
to you dear readers that the Knights are a collection of pompous weak-bellied cowards.
Rather, perhaps they were so offended by our comments in the last Mystique that
they decided to punish all of Thera by leaving us to the mercies of the hordes of darkness?
In fairness to them, of the current Knights Linenthel and Chayla can be seen leaving their
Castle from time to time. No doubt scurrying to gather fresh supplies before returning.
[JUSTICE]
Justice may yet be alive and kicking within the cities of Thera. For even as I
pen this, the newly appointed Justice Poirin potters aimlessly around Seringale,
attempting to impress little Kailya with his title. Qort, a slith warrior is another new
addition the the Halls of Justice and I have it on good authority that several others
have answered the summons of Lord Jeradan. If rumors can be believed, Lord
Jeradan himself was reduced to appearing to the unwashed ramble of Seringale to rally
others to his cause. Of the old Justices, only Jezikapine appears for duty. Unfortunately
duty to her involves an attractive male and a cheap inn.
[WARLORD]
Feyiren is no more. Rumor from within the Warlord Fortress say the minotaur stripped
himself bare, handing his impressive arsenal of weapons and armor to the newly accepted
warlord Kaolin before plunging his blade into his own heart. Of course, numerous patrons
of late opening inns have been heard mulling over Feyiren's death also with concluding that
Kaolin must have had a hand in Feyiren's demise, for he certainly gained well from it.
But believe what you will. In other news, the long absent Blademaster Taurth has been
spotted once again issuing challenges in Seringale.
[HERALD]
It is with great pleasure that I welcome Ellyise into our Halls and with equally great
sadness that I announce the death of Alistor. Kazshi too has been missing, having never
returned from a short stroll through Dankbark Forest. On a more uplifting note, Taleroth
has taken the mantle of High Herald from Sebryn, and Ellora has also been rewarded for
her life time of hard work and dedication to our cause.
[ASSASSIN]
The Assassins are always seeking those of able mind and body who seek to complete
the contracts paid for the death of their enemies. Remember, if you have
someone you want to see dead, pay a visit to Vinnie and put a price on
their head.
