As a child, being born in the Gnome Village, life was anything but "ordinary". Brumblwitz, the youngest of the five Greybrow children, was always a very curious young Gnome. His father, Triplt, was a scientist working in the Gnome Laboratory. Brumblwitz spent most of his days sitting quietly, watching Triplt and his research fellows conduct experiments (most of which ended in an explosion of one form or another). As he grew older Brumblwitz began assisting his father in the laboratory. The nature of ice had interested Brumblwitz since he was quite young. Now having access to test equipment and a proper research area he began his own experiments, during which he nearly froze himself solid. This left him with a slight speech impediment. Not being able to speak as well as before, he took to writing, his pages of notes turned into tomes and the tomes into several Volumes. Over time, these experiments and the accompanying notes started to drift from the purely scientific into the more Arcane. He learned that he could manipulate and even conjure not only ice, but other elements as well. His father's fellow researchers frowned on Brumblwitz's arcane experiments being conducted in their laboratory. After one of his experiments went wrong (he nearly burned down the entire laboratory) they chased him from the village. Not knowing what to do next he ventured into Seringale where he met Vixa, a trainee in the Guild of Invokers, who suggested he come speak to Jerold her Guildmaster. After joining the Guild, Brumblwitz began his proper training in the Arcane.
