FYI it doesn't one hit kill on thieves, its actually a different skill. "ambush" might be a better name. |

So it's basically a backstab that isn't limited by weapon type? It's limited by situation? |

I think, from what I tested with a friend's char is that the skill acts like backstab with a more fixed damage. So for an example, if you don't have pimpy gear, you can still do damage with your chieftain's sceptre or whatever.
But it only works vs tripwired or slept characters afaik. Not sure if the progress brings you out of hide, while logically it should not and should work from hide, i have not tested it.
Seems like a crap thing overall though. Maybe just an initiation skill after you rob some shit and lack backstab damage, but it's no point as it won't do enough damage for you to win a fight vs someone while being gimped anyway. |

Only reason I can see why to use it over dual backstab would be to ensure weapon and combat style superiority upon waking your opponent up. |

That is attainable by prying off the weapons from your sleeping foe.
Other than that, i could see it's usability vs fighter classes if it would have % damage implemented, similar to the new invoker spell, ray of vindication or something.
Would give some diversity for sure. |
