Why are you people dying to an illusionist? Honestly. |

Knights are sucking it up there, Erly. Crack the whip, yo. Occuilus is tearing them up. I think we have our next candidate for the forsaken. With my opinions aside, I think that everyone is doing good.....for being NOOBS!
Just kidding! Thanks for the quick post! |

One reason is, he ganks without asking for you to buy protection. |

That's not what I meant. Dying to an Ill at all shows your noobness. They are the single easiest class to evade in the entire game. |

Is that really true? What if the ill opens and lands that weird terrain spell. I always get confused by that one. |

Erlwith: Hawaht? You said it's not easy to avoid an ill if you don't play like a friend then put a link to ade's graveyard? Was that in support of saying I play like a friend? Um?
I went something like 3-0 with Ade because, while it is tough to 'kill' ills, it is very easy to 'not' die to them. Even terrained/misdirected you should be able to survive if you played properly before getting spelled up. I could make an article telling people, in great detail, how to fight ills but then there wouldn't be any more point in making an ill. |

This kind of discriminatory language was why we have had an Imm quit and an exodus of players with her. Now keep it off the forums. I am disappointed that nobody has pointed out that before I did. |

What's more disappointing is that the conversation in question is between two Emissaries... |

I think the reason for the language is because they obviously know each other very well and can handle the somewhat inappropriate language. They also failed to recognize that there are other people on these forums that do not know their prior history and the fact that they meant no harm. This wasn't a hate fueled tirade but rather a minor slip. I'm ok with it if they apologize publicly. |

I'm just saying that if you actually bother to fight an illusionist they are not the "easiest class to evade." If you run at 90%, circles around Valour, they're not going to kill you very easily (thus ade link). If you get them to 20% and you're at 20% because you actually bothered to wear some saves and fight them, and then get misdirected and terrained, it becomes pretty easy for an ill to finish you off. But that takes fighting them as I said, and not just spamming flee.
As to my comment.... Freudian slip. What I meant to say is that he plays like a HAG. |

everybody always gets their panties in a wad when someone says one thing that they don't feel is cosher (not referring the the vanisse issue but the wah he said they said bullshit)
anyways, nice job occuilus, I'm impressed. the guy obviously has skill and can pull off playing the top biggest vuln in the game. illusionist can seal the deal if you play them right, and no disrespect intended, but i don't think players like kalist and erlwith approach the game with different tactics and they just try the same rinse, wash and repeat process. don't get me wrong, it works, but not as well as it *could*. so with that said, from watching occuilus take a grip on legion and try different routes with his build, he ate the early deaths and realized how to kill with the "easily avoidable class" so kudos. sure it can be hard with an illusionist, but when the person can't see where you or they are (terrain) or walk in the 'desired' straight line, all it takes is inept stalking to blast their ass to oblivion.
I feel like I'm ranting but I wanted to say that Aahdeya didn't do as well as everyone said in her graveyard. That's a pretty awful record to have only been around 1 month. |

Not a lot of room for improv. Dupes are a given. The mentals (terrain, misd, dispel) with or without dreamstrike is the bread and butter. You could ram away with colour spray.. maybe try flashfire if they are too mental saved up. Everything else is just a minor variation (i.e. try hob sparking a giant, prism for aoe, phantom whatevering a ragezerker, feebleminding for laughs, etc.) Straightforward, but plenty lethal. I agree that if you stay on that ass you can get all kinds of kills. Illithid also has (the supposedly fixed) cone skill to help lag them into dupe goo. |

At first I just wasn't going to respond to Erlwith but I decided to anyways. Then after I posted I realized I'd repeated what he said so I was going to change it but this forum has no edit button. Yes, obviously we are both grown ups and neither of us gets hurt by a little name calling but we shoul have said HAG.
Going to write a guide on how to fight ills tonight. |
