SCREWED!!!?

In the past two days I have lost 3 irreplacable items not to lack of prevention but to "winds of Chaos" as you imms put it.
I know the help rare very very well!!! I know I am only able to hold 2 rares in my inventory at rank 37 and I know that the oldest item is dropped.
First, The realms froze up and cost me my dagger of yog shagoth, quite expencive I may say, and after a talk with sethronu I came to turns with losing the unique item, as powerfull as it was.
But today upon logging in I noticed my Oathbreaker and Icy Blue dagger to be gone as well!!
I took every precaution to prevent this upon quiting!! the oathbreaker was weilded and dual wielded was my rod of mind spectres. In inventory I had ward major and light spear and icy blue dagger. I dropped and picked up the dagger and ward to ensure they remained before quiting. When logging back on just now the dagger and oathbreaker where gone. This is starting to piss me off and I know I should gain first then worry about items/ dont complain because they will come again but this is rediculus!! That was 150k gone in 2 days from uncontrolled circumstances. You wonder why people delete. This is a major reason! I would not be so mad if it was my fault however it isnt, and "there are no reimbursments" so I'm supposed to take it up the *** right. I think this should be looked at!!! I will note my charecter name to you.

Not as bad as losing a whole set of rares, including the Steston, to a stuipd macro. But anyways shit happens, and i guess they were just overmaxed.

Rares that you wear won't delete when you quit - you've screwed up somehow. And instead of having to juggle stuff to quit because you have too many rares, just drop some you dont use, and make sure your inventory is NEVER overloaded.

It is a PROGRAM, and programs crash from time to time, even commercial muds have crashes - play sensibly.

I am new here, relatively, I guess you are right. Just was pissed because I seen no reason for it to be lost... my first unique. This will pass I suppose (my thing for eq) I just cant seem to gain a rank unless I pay someone to assist me or give them something nice. Oh well. thanks for the posts.

Hmm I'm guessing you're a mage, they generally have the hardest time ranking. If you want to be pretty much guaranteed a group after level 30, try a shaman for your next char. Everyone loves a shaman!

Ever been on those other muds where they ask you to 'customize' and you can pick extra skills to increase your exp cost? Well its like that.

Dark-Knights are a hybrid class.. they get a decent helping of shit from the fighters, and also from the mages, and even some cure. However, they don't get all the major fighter skills, and they don't get all the major mage skills either. Its a sort of jack-of-all-trades, master-of-none set-up. Same goes for paladins.

i.e. in return for the exp cost, you get a class which is a little overboard, but it isn't strong in a particular area.. in theory. Obviously in practice, when you look at a DK/Paladin, you just see the spell damage output of mages with a shit ton better melee defences / attacks,.. it'll definitely be a challenge to balance these classes and (more importantly) make them more interesting.
