Obviously there is something not connecting for me, because I asked a question. |

Mr. Forgotten, no, a charmie is not considered a PC for rage purposes
I've been tooling around with berserker today and noticed it seems like a toss-up whether mania should persist after a rage wears off. I think a rage is a roundabout relaxation technique but it could stay if that's fun
Also, I would like to lift the two-handed only restriction from one or more skills, maybe from wild smash? |

I actually liked rage that did not end and it would attack everyone, it was a scary blind rage and you had to warn people around you.
Would it be possible to do paths for the barbarian, like blind rage (old rage) and disciplined rage (new one).
Tried wild smash, I think an improvement there might be not requireing fury (it seems about as strong as a sidestep, but limited on use) and if you miss with wild step it should raise fury.
I may be missing something fundemental but it seems like headbutt is the only thing raising fury so combat is like, need 5 headbutts so I can use mania, but mania just started on its own...
Perhaps a self injury skill to raise fury, like the barbarian slaps himself until visibly upset or choked himself, you get the idea. |

Yeah I definitely want a self-injury skill, the problem is though that stuff tends to relieve anger, not increase it. |

Somewhat off topic, but on the subject of self-injury and anger... I once played a Scott Adams* text adventure where deliberate actions which hurt would invoke a state of rage (You were playing as Bruce Banner/The Incredible Hulk depending on whether he was raging or not... At the start of the game you're tied to a chair and among the things you can do include ROCK CHAIR or BITE LIP, both of which result in the chair breaking and you temporarily becoming The Incredible Hulk. I remember deliberately using HIT HEAD later to get into the Hulk's state of rage... BITE LIP still worked.).

Well that may be funny but the idea with self-harm is to get a release. I don't think people punch walls or cut themselves to get angrier. This is a weird conversation for the berserker rage thread though. I actually was just thinking I'd try a skill that hits you and your opponent for the same amount of damage, much like the shaman harm spell does. That would be less relevant to the berserker because he has more hp. I have no idea what to call the skill or if it would turn out horrible at this point. |
