This is something that you could call very cheesy, but very helpful for newbies: https://cartier.dev.java.net/
Read the features, i tested it, worked fine, after you map a couple of areas, the online-syncing and showing your location and all that works fine, but i never got used to it, so i removed it. |

Oh and the "autopilot" thing in that mapper is even more cheesy, you just click on a location on the map and you start running for it, without any wall-bumps. I almost feel bad for posting this, as now i bet some people are going to use this against me. |

It's just sad that people are too lazy to learn the areas and directions and use this bullshit. Laziness is what's killing this game. |

Speedwalking is hardly new... in fact there are already 10 year old logs around of people dying because they got attacked mid-speedwalk. |

True, but it doesn't have the typical speedwalk, eg. 10s5e2n7d....
It actually has the "intelligent" speedwalk, it moves room by room, if you stand Egate of Seringale, double-click on CC of Timaran, it will start moving there, as fast as your link allows, but without pretyping. So when you get attacked or moveless, it will automatically stop moving. |

What AR really needs is player-owned houses.
Anyway somebody said that it takes a long time to learn AR enough to survive. I really disagree with that.
A) Learning all areas (maybe not lvl 50 ones like winter) is quite easy, because firstly there aren't that many areas in AR and secondly there are maps out there of pretty much all of the areas and in order to survive you must only learn routes through them not every single hole.
B) If you think that weapon-switching-combat-style-pwning-system is complex and difficult to learn just c weapon;c protective (play a mage) and you are pretty much safe from all combat/weapon style skills.
I have used option B quite extensively since combat modules came out because Im too slow and suck with warrior classes. |
