I liked the way you could train, sad about the other way being nill, but it's not biggie. Only the uber pyscho trainers ::coughSeryiecough:: will be pissing and moaning about this, really. It just makes it harder. |

I think what he's refering to is the fact that misses no longer chain onto defences, thus summoning bunnies etc is useless... since they miss and they do not train your defences.
We uber trainers, will let nothing stand in our way to get 100% :p I don't care how long it takes me. Longest skill i've ever trained was trip from 90% to 100% took like 44 hours, oh that was fun!
But I do like the new training method as it means if you find a way to train your defences you'll have something extra over someone else. Give me time, give me time. |

I am surprised that so many people actually LIKE the idea of training getting messed up. Personally I think anything that discourges boring training is a good thing. |

Training is boring? Dammit I think I need to see a doctor, I feel lost when I'm not training something, it's actually quite fun :p |

I agree. I've set up an 'event' on my MUD client to alert me to whenever a skill has increased. It's such a good feeling to watch those numbers slowly go up... |

Now your profeciency at a defense actually means something. Before everyone had every defense at 100%. It meant nothing and the imms might have well set every one of them to 100% for us, since it was considered a "pre-requisite" to any fighting.
Have have skill %'s if every single person on the mud is going to have it at 100% anyways? |

Because exaggerated proficiency differences had been the only way that certain unskilled players can stomp on newbies, since they can't get away with multiing or OOC gangbangs any more. |

Or, to reverse that statement, "exaggerated proficiency" is the only way those of us who suck can even begin to stand toe to toe with those "unskilled" players. |

Mmmmm, owls. They weren't only good for defenses. I raged there with my zerker doing countless of hits every round while spamming buy owl; rel owl.
And then my char got deleted cause of some hacker. |

Even with no one else on, there are better things to do than train. Always. |
